I just purchased a 1999 Corvette with keyless entry however, they don't work. Can I rest them or do I have to take it to a dealer? Also, I just have one key. Is the dealer the only place to get another key and how much should I expect to spend? Thanks!

Does your fob work manually? If not it's probably the battery. Either way I think the procedure to reset them is in the owners manual.
You can get the blank keys with the resistor pellet on eBay for $25, then take the blank to your local hardware store to have it cut for $1. You just have to know the VATS code for your current key so you get the right blank. Find out the code by taking it to a dealer and paying for it , or use an ohm meter to check the resistance of the pellet yourself for free Here are the code numbers that go with each resistance.

I just saw your other post saying you don't have an owners manual.
To change the battery just pop open the fob at the bottom by putting a dime in the slot and twisting it.
To resynch the transmitters to your car after changing the battery just hold both the lock and unlock buttons down together for 7 seconds. The horn will chirp if it worked.
To match/assign a transmitter to the car:
1. turn ignition to ON 2. clear alarms on DIC by pushing RESET 3. push OPTIONS until screen is blank, then hold down RESET for 2 seconds 4. when 'fob training' is displayed, push RESET once, then 'hold lock & unlock on 1st fob' will be displayed 5. press and hold lock and unlock on fob #1 6. once fob is learned it will display 'fob learned' 7. repeat steps 5 and 6 for all of your fobs (up to 3) 8. remove key from ignition
IMHO, if you plan on doing any work on the car yourself you need to get two things: 1. a parts CD, they're available on eBay for about $10-$15 shipped, or I can probably be bribed into making a copy of mine 2. a copy of the official GM Service Manual, again you can probably find it on eBay, or you can get one from Helm at HelmInc.com for a few more $.
