DelcoElectronics AM-FM Stereo with Compact Disc player and automatic tone control (2000 C5 Coupe)

The 12 CD Changer in the rear of the coupe does not work. When loading CDs into the system - it displays in the window up front (under the lettering "Theft Lock." The CD icon is there, but after about 3-4 seconds, the unit defaults to the radio. When properly loading the CDs, the unit goes through the customary check to see if they are all there. Any thoughts absent taking it in to an car stereo business?

Welcome to the forum [Cheers]

Are you certain the discs are in the right way? And is it loading all of the discs before you try to use the radio?

Hi Bruce,
I have a 99 c-5 with a similar cd changer problem. Did you find out the problem?

Hi guys,

IŽm from Germany so excuse my English!
A few years ago, IŽve had a similar problem.
After many attempts without access I tried two options:
First I pressed the reset button located on the cd changer but this was bootless.
As the second attempt I took off fuse #5 located in the passengers footwell and left it out about 3 minutes.
After I plugged it in the Bose Sound System seemed to "reboot" and since then my CD Changer works well!

I hope youŽll have similar easy success!
Good luck!

Greetz from Germany

Markus

Does the CD icon flash or is it steady ??? I had the same thing happen to me but after a few seconds it would read all the discs and work fine.....if you try and play while it flashes it will for sure go back to RADIO-so wait till its steady disc displayed....good luck
