Will it go into reverse? Are you certain it is going from 1st to 2nd and not 3rd? Any codes stored in the DIC?

I'm not too familiar with automatics, but there have been a few cases where the reaction shell cracks and they lose reverse, 2nd and 4th gears.

I'd suggest heading over to www.corvettemechanic.com

Post up your technical question and they usually give good insight..

I'd suggest asking over at that site above.

Welcome to the forum Kevin. If it was me, I'd bring into Chevy and have them look at it.

Could be shifter cable..
Check the cable for too much slack and broken connector piece at two locations . Where it connects to the tranny easier than at the shifter.
These cables are tough to install. When and who put the tranny in? Could be an install issue, cable adjustment or many other things. You have to pull the codes they will reveal what component is failing to perform. Did they replace the toruqe convertor?? Is the trans fluid at the right amount? I agree with JB post up over at corvette mechanic.com
