I have a 98 with 99977 miles that is blowing hot air from the passenger side when the a/c is on. I did have a cracked vacuum line that was replaced and the battery was disconnected for over 1 hour for replacement. I allowed the gauges to sweep then settle before starting but after warmup it blows hot air, any idea what I should do next?
Thanks,
Dana

The diverter doors need to be resynched. Turn all settings for AC off the disconnect the battery ground for at least 5 minutes as a start if not successful post up there are other tricks to try before you throw parts at it.

If you have the automatic A/C controls... With the car running and the A/C on, pull fuses 18 & 27 in the passenger floorboard box. Wait a minute, then put the fuses back in. This should 'recalibrate' the damper motors for you if that's the problem. If you have the manual/single zone A/C system this won't do any good, sorry.

Here's the update on my 98 w/auto controls, I had the coolant level checked and it is good. I took the neg. battery cable off and waited 15 min. I also removed fuses 18 & 27 waited and reinstalled. Still have the same problem, ice cold on the drivers side and toasty hot on the pass. side. Is there something else I could try?
Thanks,
Dana

Do you have the dual zone automatic A/C or the manual controls?

I could still use some advice. So far I've tried disconnecting the battery/reconnecting, pulling the the fuses while the car and a/c was running and pulling and installing them in different order also I have done this several times each day for the last 3 day's. Still ice cold on the drivers side and toasty hot on the pass. side. I hope you can still offer some ideas summer here in Central Florida is coming on fast.
Thanks,
Dana

If you turn it on high heat does it put out "hot" heat? Is it as hot as the driver's side?

It is the door an actuator might be necessary. They usually resync with the disconnect. Don't give up keep trying. Pulling the dash is no fun.

Still trying. The heat on the pass. side is hot no matter what the dial is set at. If you set the drivers side to max heat all I get is cool air, set the dial back to max cold and I get ice cold air. (drivers side only)Is there a way to disconnect the door from the motor, close it manualy and leave it that way with out pullin the dash?
Thanks,
Dana

Looking at my 01 manual for dual temp, there are vacuum operated individual air temperature doors for each side. There is also an air temp actuator. (Doesn't sound like this.)
The symptoms are related, only through the vacuum system. If you have a way to check the HVAC vacuum, this is where I would start. Sounds like a vacuum problem which has unsynced the air temp doors, and now is bad enough to keep the passenger's side inoperative, and the driver's side operative to a limited extent.
I have an HVAC Vacuum schematic from my book I could scan and send you, but I don't know how to do it through the forum. At least you could understand how the system works looking a the schematic.
Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps.

Gotta have air in FLA I would check the controller does it work correctly the temp adjustment fan spped mode all lights work?
Under the hood all vacuum hoses ok check there full run connected no leaks? Next after exhausting the resynch get to the hung door and try and dislodge it could be stuck.. no joy then time to throw parts at it start with the motor but remove it first and check it out. Low freon would cause the lights to flash when on a/c setting. Best of luck Post up what you find. I will dig out manual later today and post up what the general says.
