The P1416 was talked about in your post here:

I take it you still haven't had the check valve replaced? You'll need to do it and run the car for a while before the car will pass an emissions or OBDII inspection.

P1431 is for the fuel tank. You've probably noticed the tank dropping to Empty at random times. The first step is to run a 20oz bottle of Chevron Techron in 2 consecutive tank fills to see if it will clear up.

no. I was just driving my 98 vet at about 45 mph and the Traction control System failure popped up, and also showed engine reducing power.
I pulled over and turned off the car, and then waited about 10 minutes and cranked the car up again and it ran fine after that.
But the Check engine light stayed on. This happened about 3 weeks ago, and I just checked the codes again and it showed P1416 B - Air Sys Bank 2, & P1431 C -Fuel Level Sen 2, Ckt Perf.
Any suggestions, please help. Thanks Brigitte

Hello Bruce,
No I have not had the check valve replaced. I was told not to worry about it, and that it would be fine until a rainy day. Well that rainy day has come, because now I have to get it to pass emissions.
But, I am also worried about the other things that have popped up
since the old code. The P1431 - Fuel Level Sen 2.
What should I do about it?
Thanks for your help., Brigitte
