Well it's time to replace my pads, front and rear. I've done a lot of brakes in my 65 years but never a C5. Any pit falls I should look for? Also I hear you can replace the pads on the front w/o removing the calipers, is this true? Thanks in advance.... Old Marinejavascript:void(0)

If all you plan on doing is the pads, the C5 is about as simple as it gets. If you want more info start by clicking here and then on the links that come up.

Hey Chewy, thanks for the great help. Pad replacement was a snap. I used my homemade hockey puck/eye bolts in the shipping slots in frame rails and avoided any damage to the rockers when jacking the car. Is there an adjustment for the handbrake? It seems to not be as strong as it was. Once again thanks for all of the help!!! Semper Fi

The easy way (if you're lucky): Let the car slowly roll backwards and pull up on the brake handle. Repeat, repeat, then repeat several dozen more times until you notice the brake engages with the handle a bit lower.

The only thing I have with an Apple on it is my iPod, and it crashed the last two times I tried to do the 'recommended updates', so now I'm leaving it alone since it's out of warranty. If it ever stops working with my PC I'll consider updating it, but not until I find a way to back everything up.
