Is there any way to reset the tire pressure sensors to a higher pressure? Since I put the Sumitomo tires on they keep reading high pressure. The new tires max out alot higher than the old runflats. Thanx

The tire pressure listed on the sidewall of a tire is the MAXIMUM pressure you should run. Not the NORMAL pressure. If they are stock sizes you should start around the stock pressure of 30PSI COLD.

I'm more for running the tire pressure recommended by the car manufacturer rather than the tire maker.

Tire manufacturers do not quote a tire pressure for individual vehicles on their tire. The max air pressure rating on the tire sidewall is for load capacity of the tire only. Each vehicle's tire pressure should be set to the manufacturer's recommended setting, usually on the driver door jamb, or door. Tire pressures should be set when cold. That being said, C5's generally run the centers out of the rear tires at 30 psi cold (which is the factory recommneded pressure). Setting the rears at 28 psi cold will help stop most of that.

That's a good idea unless you have a 90's era Ford Explorer with Firestones on it [Banging Head]

The manufacturers were supposed to install a new door jamb sticker, with updated tire inflation information on it, during the recall.
