I have a 98 coupe and I guess after years of use the door glass is loose and rattles with them rolled all the way up. Any suggestions as how to fix this annoying problem?

Have you taken a look at the weather-stripping around the window? It might be something as simple as that...

It's possible to adjust the angle of the window when it's closed, that may be all you need to do. Click here for the procedure. You don't need an inverted torx tool, I forget what size but a regular socket works fine.

I had a rattle from the window motor cables ratteling around and each other inside the door.
The door panel styrafoam also needed new glue since the old had long dried. The S. foam was squeaking a little from being loose.
The best thing to do would be to take the door panel off, windows up and go for a ride. When you start hearing the noise, grab things on the door to try and isolate it.
To do this though you will probably have to remove the plastic rain shield that goes between the door panel and the door itself so you can see inside the door while driving.
