Hi ladies and gentlemen. I had recently shipped my C5 from Alaska to my Aunt's house to store while I move. When I got to KC my aunts husband said the car has some problem that it wont run and the "Remove key for 10 seconds" indication is back. Luckily this happened in his driveway after he had returned from a 60 mile drive.
Is that the steering column thing coming back or something else. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Pull Key and Wait 10 sec is not necessarily a column lock issue. It could be an issue with the pellet on the key or ignition switch as well. Not to mention a battery issue.
Clean the key with a little rubbing alcohol and then try it, try the other key, and check the codes stored in the DIC and then post them.

We are down in the lower 48 for good now. We just drove from Anchorage to SanAntonio (through OKC last night). We plan to go find a house in Vegas. Hopefully its a good time to buy.
My uncle had my car towed to the Chevy dealer to get it fixed so I could ship it to me at my new home. The dealer found the issue to be the steering lock recall was not done right. The 'plate' was not removed and the motor had gone out. GM fixed both of those issues under the origional recall warranty AND payed for the towing without me even asking them. Now all seems good and hopefully soon I will have my car back.

Hopefully the dealer that did all of your recent work will bill the dealer that did the original recall. Just one more perfect example of why my car will never see a dealership service department unless I have absolutely no choice. Glad you got it fixed anyway.

I am not sure if this would be a conflict of interest or get some legal issues going but the dealer that did the origional recall was located in Soldotna Alaska. That owner owns like 6 Corvettes so I am very surprised that they didnt take better care of mine. But I do remember that after my recall was done my car was covered in greasy finger and handprints all over. So bad that they gave me a super detail from the GM auto spa that they have there. Anyway, the dealer that fixed the issue and told me of the problem and then didnt charge me for it was Moore (or maybe More) Chevy in Kansas City. I really do appreciate a guy calling and saying that GM is going to eat the cost and pay for it all. I would buy from them.
