Automatic transmission - gears, torque converter, tune for better acceleration.

Manual transmission - LT headers, tune for overall gains.

Both will probably be over 2k if you have them installed.

Mods? What's a mods? None of us know anything about mods [Confused]

What's your starting poiont, is the car still bone stock? If there's something you've always wanted, start there and see how much $$ you have left. $2k is just about right for the standard intake/exhaust 'first mods'.

If you're relatively happy with the car the way it is, mod the driver. Save a few more bucks and do the 3-day Level 1 class at Spring Mountain. I loved it, plus it's just outside of Vegas.

Are you looking for power gains to drop your 1/4 mile times, or handling improvements so you can take that cloverleaf on the way home from work just a bit faster?

If you're looking for 'enjoyment' mods: MGW shifter, new aftermarket stereo, Window Valet, non-slip pedals, interior leather upgrades, iCAGS....

Do you do a lot of driving at night? PIAA 1100x fogs & T-84 headlights (or even HID's).

Do you do your own work on the car? A set of GM service manuals is a great place to start if you do.

Oh the possibilities, I could go on for days -

Click here for one of my old C5 mods lists, or check out the link in my sig for the current list.

[Cheers]

First, are you doing the labor? That will be a huge factor in what you get for your 2 grand. A $1000 exhaust upgrade will probably cost you $300-400 to install around here, so your 2 grand is pretty much toast.

Tires and suspension first. The power side of the equation is next. Tires Michelin ZP Pilot Sports excellent tires great handling and wear my fronts have have 35k on them and have 1/3 the tread remaining, have replaced rears however. Springs change them to the Z06 springs much better control than stock finally put some Hotchkis sway bars with their end links this is a great improvement you'll love the control. Next find someone that knows how to align it properly and will set it up like you need it not just some jack leg like NTB or some consumer shop but someone that does it as a passion. After this then work on the power side of the equation. Remember power is nothing without control.
