Hi, I currently own a '98 C5. I am 50 years old and am interested in purchasing an exhaust system for my vette. I'm not looking for anything extremely loud or extravagent. I just want something to sound a little better than stock. I am looking for something in the area of $1000 - $1500. I looked at a few on Ebay but wasn't really sure what I was looking at. I was looking for some opinions from experienced individuals. Thanks for any suggestions!

Welcome and congratulations on the C5 It is a great car. There are many choices take your time and shop for take offs from cars being traded in etc.. I have corsa indy's not too loud but no caprice either. Sounds like a corvette should. Corvetteforum.com has the best classified I have found. Be careful as there are thieves among us. Hang out ask questions this is the best forum no hype or crack heads just happy corvette owners

Hey Bradley, welcome to the forum.

One thing I can't stand is a system that drones. It gets old fast. I've used Borla on a number of cars and have always been happy with the quality and sound. For my '01, I chose Borla 4" Quad Stingers. Nice look, sound and no drone. Also, I would get the "X" pipe as well.

As Bruce said, go to a Corvette club and listen to different systems. Some companies post the sound for you on line.
Email me and I'm happy to send you a pic. bados1@aol.com

Welcome Bradley! [Save the Wave!]

Have to agree with all the above. There is no substitute for hearing a system live. If you're looking to spend $1,000-1,500 I personally would skip ebay.

Welcome Bradley and congrats on the C5. The Corsa Pace Car system with a X-Pipe would be just what you're looking for!

Wow...thanks a lot for everyones input. After looking into some of your suggestions, I think the Corsa Pace / or Extreme is what I am looking for. For my next question... where would you recommend purchasing this system from (best price & service) I am not interested in purchasing anything used.

Thanks -Brad

Seriously buy a take off set they are stainless nothing really to go bad. Just make sure the seller is trutworthy and there have been no cuts made to the system. Less than 1/2 the money. Watch them install it at Midas

Bradley, I currently have the early Corsa system on, but looking to upgrade. Went to a Vette based car show and did my own survey, 9 out of 10 C5/6's had a Borla system. I've had SLP on my F-body, in the $800 range and great sounding, one system I am looking into.

Yes, whatever they said-depending on what you are looking for-Sound etc....my B&B PRT is darn loud and sounds great-everytime I start the engine heads are turning......so whatever your sound sences are just browse around and listen to different systems. Just be WARNED-if you don`t want a whistle in your ears(after shutting off the Vette) stay away from the B&B PRT-it is loud, cant say about any other system since i havent experienced it.
