Nice CAR!

Wanted it for sure. Too bad its not AWD which is what I needed in the 2008 CTS AWD I bought in October..

Love that power level as it smokes the much heralded MB AMG C63, M3, M5, Audi RS4,6,8, Lexus ISF420 hp as well..

American style and power at its best.

No reason to buy foreign yet AGAIN!

When I took my SRX in for service last week the loaner was a 08 CTS. It was a V6 no sunroof etc. Nice commuter car but I wanted to drive the V8 at least.

The 300hp V6 wasn't enough? thats surprising.. I find it pretty quick...

Zero to 60 in 6 seconds.. and it seems to scoot around town and the highway pretty good.

No CTS V series with 550 hp for sure...but its enough...

The v would have been cooler if it offered AWD and the new coupe is smoking hot too.(which will be coming in V series as well)

I wish they'd just make an ls3 430hp CTS Sport AWD..

Now that would be a hell of a car for 50 grand.

BTw..there is a 263hp V6 model of the CTS too so maybe they gave you that.. although I thought that was pretty peppy too..

I think the base V6 263hp version does zero to sixty in about 7.5 seconds...which is fine too.

Mostly I wanted to drive the V8 because my SRX is a V6 and I think it has plenty of push but I'm told the V8 is just far and away a more fun car to drive. On the SRX the 6 moves it around just fine and with really good gas milage. The only problem I've had with it is the Vistaview sunroof tends to squeek.

The new Direct injection 304hp V6 makes only 16 hp less than the heavier Northstar V8..

I would imagine the torque of the V8 should be higher in the much more expensive engine..

I have a V6 SRX 2006 and a V8 SRX 2008, the V6 as you said moves the SRX nicely, the V8 SRX has a 6 speed compared to the V6 5 speed, and the V8 runs great and gets only 1/2 mile per gallon less in the city, and the handling with the 20's is very good. The V8 moves the SRX much better than I would have ever thought.

Remember the 2008 Cadillac STS V6 and I would imagine SRX (although just a guess) has Direct injection where the 2006 V6 model does not..

The new Direct direct injection v6 with 304hp really does close the gap on the northstar V8..

I think thats why GM has discontinued development of the northstar replacement the V8 ultra...

The cafe standards just wacked a lot of fun vehicles planned in GM's lineup.

its been said the Impala SS RWD 430 hp as well as the GTO replacement has been put on hiatus as well..

Direct injection and maybe if we are lucky DSG trannys might make it into production for their emissions and fuel efficiency just yet!

Sorry to go off on a rant..

BTW..I'm digging my 436hp C6 coupe.. Z51 and M6...

Great car at 3200 lbs..

Lord I hope we're not getting back to all the uninspiring cars we had in the late 70's!

I truly believe it will just cost us more to enjoy what we already have (at least from a performance perspective)

I realize that is usually the case but with the new government regulations it will just escalate our costs as consumers at a faster rate..

Big brother is taxing us for what we want..

PERFORMANCE! Its unsocial in the new century.. to have fun with cars...

The goverment will be happy if we are all driving around in mundane transportation or we as enthusiasts will have to pay!

Just my opinion at the moment..
