The new grand sport pricing was announced today..

its a 6200 option over the cost of the coupe...(last years price anyway)

Z51 suspension
Wide body
Wider wheels and tires
launch control
dry sump oiling system
z06 brakes..

I could have lived without the z06 brakes adding in the price but since the z51 option cost about 1700 bucks last year...

the whole grand sport option list only costs about 4500 more .

I'd say thats a dam good deal.

What do you think?

Sounds good to me. I wonder if there will be a GT2 version since the Corvette Racing team is switching to that class in ALMS after LeMans.

$6,200 is about half of what I thought it would be. If I was looking to order a new car (which I'm not) I would definitely be leaning towards getting it.

With GMS pricing, a loaded GS should come out in mid to upper 50's. I paid just under 50 for my '07 back in 2006 when you had to actually be a supplier to get GMS.

[Thumbs Up!]

The manual coupe is the way to go!

Its got the dry sump oiling system and the battery relocated to the trunk.

The convertible doesn't have this nor does the automatic transmission..

The coupe manual trans is the way to go with the grand sport.

Sounds like a deal. When will the package be available? Is this going to have to wait until GM comes out of Chapter 11? The local dealer here seems to know nothing about it.

this will be available as part of the 2010 lineup.

55 grand for a brand new C6 Grand Sport 1lt is the package I would suggest..

I'm sure early on there will no discounts off msrp for the new grand sport..but as time goes forward...who knows..

With the exception of the Grand Sport, I haven't heard or read any info on the new 2010 vette. Is anything available ? I picked up my 01 C5 during the 1st week of July, 2000. Kind of thought cars or at least info would be available.

Also heard, that the government will be raising the avg MPG for 2016 cars to 42.

You can see the 2010 order guide here, but it doesn't have prices. They'll start production on the 2010's during the last week in July either way.

I'm not sure if they've even officially released prices yet, but if you're looking to buy there are dealers offering anyone and everyone GM Supplier pricing. That's roughly 10-12% off MSRP (depending on options) and is a set price (no negotiating accepted or allowed). At least that's how it is with people who actually qualify for the GMS pricing, but I'm sure they'll stick to the rules for everyone.

[Cheers]

Thanks! Good information..

I'd definitely do the grand sport 1lt coupe.

dam fine car and top off motoring...

Best tan in years with this thing.. and Im having a blast at the same time.

Grand sport would be my personal preference if I were shopping today though.

Worth the 5 or 6 g's more. IMO

Wide body, sport suspension, better brakes, dry sump oiling system w/M6, bigger wheels and tires...

thats a slam dunk option for any enthusiast...

IMO

A computerized system that gives you the most traction possible. All you have to do is floor the gas and pop the clutch, the car will control the throttle and give the engine the maximum amount of gas it can while still keeping the wheels from breaking loose.

Even leadfoot could drive it [Roll Eyes]
