Lets see if it takes the average corvette about 11 seconds to go from zero 100mph.. thats the tag line..
What tires were run? What programing was run in the pcm..? Would the car last the warranty period with the tuning? or just a 1000 miles?
With turbos its easy to fill with race gas and up the pressure on the turbos?
Take the fact Nissan has a HISTORY of bullsh!ting the press w/prototypes at the RING..
I suggest waiting till the car hits car and driver track test time.. (although because the GTR should be easier ...ie awd automatic tranny etc... the car should be fast as hell especially in the hands of every magazine driver...vs. the very talented...
I like the GTR.. I don't like being bullshited though..

If that's true about the flying versus standing start, then we're talking apples and oranges here. Where did you hear that, JB?

On the various internet sites.. I can't remember which but I do remember reading about it.
As great as the gTR may be...Its still not going to be quicker than the 505 hp 3200 lb C6 Z06.
The fact the times that are being discussed at the ring definitely leads creditibility to the claim that the GTR's time is a running start...
Not a dead start like the Z06..
I believe we will see the GTR come in at performance times stock to stock...with a c6 coupe or vert and not a Z06 which is dam impressive too..
Remember the ls2 C6 last year in car and driver beat out the times of a 911 twin turbo...(and the fan fare was not the second coming of christ like we are hearing in the various forums from the fans of the GTR..)
Great car... I'm sure....but not a z06 killer .. or even a Corvette coupe killer..
Give or take a few tenths either way...sure.....but not a killer for the coupe or the vert.. (with skilled drivers in both cars)

My recollection of driving the 'ring (many years ago, and in the wet), is that the "old" circuit, where they test, is bumpy and has few really very fast sweepers. There are a lot of left/right/left sequences, some of which tighten up as you get into them. And downhill, in the wet, this makes for exciting driving.
I like the idea of a powerful AWD car personally, if it was not so ugly! Just why do Japanese designers give up on performance car front end styling?? Look at both the GTR and the latest Evo - it's like they just did not know what to do for the grille, so they just left a gaping ugly big hole there.
