Sounds like a switch problem. Are you guys getting any power to the motors? Seems since both are affectted that's a good place to start. Only a guess.

Ground What is the weather like?? Wet? Check the ground condition to the module. Just follow the wire to the ground and inspect remove and clean it up.

Ground is a good possibility. There can get pretty mucked up. Like leadfoot suggests, follow the wire to the ground and clean it.

Hey guys what's up with the headlights? getem fixed yet? Usually the module will fail it wont sputter. The module is usually the last item to fail they are pretty bullet proof. Try resynch disconnect the battery ground cable and cycle the switch when you reconnect. If all else works it must be in the wires. Best of luck

this might be along the same lines. We have the twilight thingy here in canada where the lights automatically come up when it is dark out, and the emergency brake down. the odd times the lights light up, but will not come up. I have to shut the car off, wait couple secs, and restart. then they seem to come up. any suggestions?

I think it is a synch issue. The headlights get out of synch and dont know if they are up or down. Disconnect power or as youi have found turn off wait and restart equals resynch. I do not use the twilight as it pops up when you dont need it and it wears the plastic gears on the motor when raising the lights at speed. IMHO. lead i did the synch thing and the lights worked for a bit now once in a while they stay up and dont wana come down. if i play with the light swith turning it on and off they seem to catch and go down and up on command. any idea? also whats the easyway to the headlight control module its the only place that i havent been able to check the connections. i know that its located on the right front frame rail under the headlight right? i just dont see it.

The module is kinda tough to get your hands on. It's mounted on the vertical wall directly below the passenger side headlight. If you remove the hood height adjustment bolt next to the light you'll have a bit more room to get in there.
TIP: loosen the jam nut 1/2 turn, remove bolt, then when replacing bolt tighten it down, unscrew bolt 1/2 turn, then tighten jam nut. That way it will be adjusted the same as before you started.

chewy, i check all my connections looks like the module is bad i was able to make the lights work correctly by bypassing the module.
