I'll be 60 this year on 9/11 (eventful birthday). It has been said by some marketeers that the Chevrolet Corvette doesn't appeal to the younger market. Some say Corvettes don't have the "toys" that the younger crowd likes. Or is it the price that these cars demand? Or both? I think it would be fun if you guys told us how old you are and the year(s) of your Corvette(s). As always, any comments are welcome. I'll start:
Age 59 2001 Corvette convertable
I was around 40 when I bought my first Vette. It was a beautiful '69 vert. I think I always considered a Corvette, but had a family to support. It always had been a dream since I was a kid. I knew some day I would get one.

I think it is partly the price. Alot of kids around here get the Ricer from Mom/Dad and then just add alot of worthless mods. You can put alot of stuff on a Honda or Hyundai for alot less than the cost of a base Vette.

First vette was a 1.5 year old '01 coupe purchased in '03 when I was 32. I bought it after having a TransAM for four years, I had no idea.....
Current vette is an '07, ordered new and delivered to me at the NCM. I got the 6 year/90K GMPP since I plan on keeping this one for a long time.
Anyone under 25 pays more for insurance on a vette than they would pay for the vette, IMO that's what mostly limits the younger crowd at Corvette gatherings.

I was 49 when I bought my first 97 A/4 315, coupe. I have wanted a corvette sense I was a kid and I fell in love with them. 67 427/435hp six tail lights drove me crazy. Thought I would never have one, and now my corvette is paid for in June. It has 24,000 miles smells new inside and drives like a dream. Fastest, best handling sports car I have ever had. If I sell it, it will only be to get another corvette. Maybe a new C-7 in 2010. Best sports car for the money, hands down.

Had my first ride in a corvette at 10 years old brand new red with white gut and coves 62 convert. Still my favorite. Had muscle cars hot rods sports cars motorcycles always liked vettes. Bought my first one new 1996C4 loaded black Nice car but man hard to get in and out of rode like a buckboard.. Black coupe 99 loaded with every option just looked so cool had to have it. Man what a car what an improvement. I remember thinking with my new C4 them C5's are big fat ass ugly, not that much faster, looks european cant be better than my C4. Oh baby the C5 was better in every category I even like her ass now. Like Norm I will probably be keeping my C5 for awhile I love it, it's paid for, runs great just put $2k into her.. however just last week 05 C6 with every option 4k miles Black 6speed $38k I called but it was sold.. who knows what lies in the hearts of men??? I'm 55 and like the corvette, I am better than ever.

I am 38. And I have a 99 pewter coupe. I always have thought of the corvette as an older guys car. My dad has an 84 and 99 (now), and me and my wife borrowed an 86 from the president of our local club to go on a road trip with them and about 50+ other corvettes. Didn`t like the c4`s all too well. And me and my wife went to the local corvette dealer and test drove a c5 and that was all she wrote. The night and day difference between the c4 and c5 is incredible, and they say the c6 is even better. just can`t believe that until I drive one. I know now i`ll never be without one.
