I am 61- bought a '66 coupe in '67 when I was 21 with a 3 mo old daughter- she will turn 40 next year, and is now my business partner. I repaired and restored (and owned) C3s and C4s for 30 years and now have a computer graphics biz and an '01 silver convert and a '67 silver/black full custom convert.

OK, here's the comment that will p.o. everyone. My first Vette was a C5 - a 98 bought 8/97, and I still have it. Reason I waited until then? The C5 was the first world class Corvette made. The others tended to fit the "flexible flier" nomenclature. I did consider a late model C4, but one look at the cockpit and no way. The dash would have been more appropriate to a Buick rental.

I kinda agree, However, to me the C2 Coupe was/is the best looking Vette ever. Thats why I got a C5 as it kinda reminds me of my old C2 that I wished I still had.

I'm 63. Been driving my '04 Commemerative convertible for 3 years now. Love it! First Vette was about 14 years ago. A white '79 L82 glass T-tops. Fast, uncomfortable, dangerous! I loved it!

..........assuming everyone was honest about their age.
I didn't even give it a thought. Nah, everyone who owns a C5 is honest!

Looks like you didn't care for the C3s? Anything stand out that made you skip a generation?
in late 60s we had children so i needed more seats so i bought Z-28s and 450 HP chevelles. i tried to buy a C-4 but i did not like the way you had to climb into the car and i also did not like the way the dash and steering wheel shook over the rough roads. i wanted a ZR-1 because i loved the engine but i could not like the car

As a kid I loved my C3(69), as long as you were going in a straight line. Never a big fan of the C4 myself, but like you loved the ZR-1 for the engine.
