I don't think kids today have an appreciation for the classics. You have to remember as kids we couldn't wait for the new model years to rollout in October. I'm a proud owner of a rare Fairway Green 1998 convertible. It was my midlife crisis present to myself.

I don't know about the insurance....when I got rid of my BMW Z3 and replaced it with the Vette- my insurance went down $15 a year.

On a side note:

I had to go to the Chevy dealer on Friday for some small parts. There were 3 old(er) guys wating for their vettes. The youngest guy was probably over 60. He actually had a really nice blue c6. The two other fellas were both tan, really sun wrinkled, leathery, and in their 70's. Both waiting for red C5's. One of the C5's was all pimped out with big wheels and a body kit. I thought that it was sort of funny.

On friday I also received my first and second waves from other Vette owners. It was a nice day on the roadways!

--------------------
...I have no idea what I'm doing.

Hello All,
Log another 50 year old first time owner of '99 Coup 6 speed. Metalic red and totally stock. Great car dispite the tech issues already experienced. Planned trip down 66 to LA this year got cancelled, but looking to make it early next year with this car. Is there any better time of the year to make this trip?

Howdy!....I bought my 2004 Triple black at 37, still have it, and just turned 40!...

My insurance is State Farm (multi-car) and runs about 73.00 per month loaded...

Although, just got a "photo-communist" robot ticket in the mail for 52mph in a 40mph intersection....I didn't run the red light, and was moving with the flow of traffic as the video clearly shows...5 other vehicles were driving next to me, all at the same speed...but the camera picked me on that day...

I haven't had a ticket in over 17 years!...And now, a damn robot stuck it to me!...Wonder how those cameras would work with paintball covered lens covers?....or maybe given a gentle "nudge" from the cow pusher bumper on my F250 6.0L Diesel... [Wink]

Made the Route 66 trip a couple years ago in mid-Sept. No problems with weather, Southwestern temps were tolerable and luckily missed the Midwest hail storms.

As my nick shows I was born in 1969. My first Vette was a '91 charcoal coupe. I bought her in 12/02. I loved her very much, but my great dream was a C5. Last month this dream came true, I bought my '00 coupe. C5 is the best looking Corvette for me.

Oh yeah, no doubt. My wife and I saw a nice looking silver C6 parked yesterday. She said, "I don't like the front, or the side, yours looks much sexier." Love the lines on a C5. [Cool]

Yeah; good thing there wasn't an undercover cop nearby seeing me hand her the cash with a big smile on my face. [Devil Grin]

I just turned 29 and buying my first Corvette this weekend.
I found a gorgeous 2002 ZO6!
I think the price stops a lot of the "younger" crowd, as right now, the 2002 tops me out on my price range.
