The bushing or the gear in the headlight motor is going out on you. About $50 for parts and a pain in the ass to rebuild but not that tough. Just the driver side right?

It is the rubber bushing inside the motor once a motor goes it is gone the rubber gets out of shape so sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt
There is a guy that sells a repair kit (rodney) on ebay about 50 with instructions. it is a pain in the ass to do but a dealership will soak you big bucks. Good luck

1214 can be caused by a weak battery and loose or dirty ground in 3 places the battery ground cable is loose, grounding point g102 and the ground on the ecbm. Once set this code will display for 50 ignition cycles so it could have been a weak battery 48 starts ago that set this code. Resist the urge to throw parts at this car the problems usually are fixable the parts on whole are very reliable.
Headlight motor rebuild kit brass gear and rubber bushing look under C5 parts he always has a listing

The listing is the part I have not purchased from this guy so cannot testify but yeah this will work. Be sure to let him know you have the 02 cause your rebuild needs to glue the casing back together

Hey rodney's the man on headlights and he has a dog in the hunt so check out his advice. Combined with your 1214 it could be the ground behind the left headlight is compromise bad corroded failing and causing these issues. It is where a splice pack connects pull it apart and inspect the terminals for corrosion then remove the bolt that holds the connector and clean it and under it and spray with anti corroision stuff could be the problem. I still think itm is the rubber bushing but what do I know never even seen your car. I hope it is this ground and it probably is and it is the easy way out of these problems
