Hello! I'm new here and have owned my first 'Vette for about 6 months. A 2004 coupe w/ all options, 31K miles and GM extended warranty until 2009/100k miles. I paid $30K - a bargain, I think. It has an aftermarket stereo - Alpine w/ XM, after market exhaust - LOUD and Z06 scoops behind the doors. I don't know why I waited so long to own one. My question is should this car bottom out on the front end over all kinds of bumps and driveway inclines? The rubber/plastic skirts under the front bumper seem to touch almost everything they go over. I cannot go slow enough to stop it from happening. The scraping is driving me nuts. Maybe the previous owner lowered the car was my thinking. Is this normal??

Welcome and congratulations on buying such a great at a fantastic price. As you can already tell the smiles per mile are unmatched for the money Your car has been lowered and can be restored if you have the select ride I highly recommend restoring original height as the reduced travel will adversly effect the performance of the state of the art shocks your car probably has. Did you know Ferrari now uses the same shock technology as the f55 magnaride system pionered by corvette? You have many miles of outstanding performance ahead. Watch out for mod fever and your car will return your respect and care with reliability and kick ass fun. If you need assistance with restoring the ride height check out some of the other posts on the subject and post up any questions. Welcome to THE forum. Ah yes, the ole rubs over bumps. I have to take my driveway at about a 30 degree angle doing 2mph before it won't scrape. If the car has been lowered you may consider lifting back up some, but even at stock height some bumps will rub.

My car has been lowered and as I've said it rubs on everything. I've just learned to be careful and it doesn't really bother me anymore.

CONGRADULATIONS and welcome to the forum. Mine also scrapes on the driveway. Coming and going at an angle and taking it slow will help. Have fun with your Vette.

Welcome. I removed the front spoilers and air dam on my car. Not nearly as much scraping. Coolant temp remains within operating range even in stop and go traffic.

Spoilers are designed to direct air towards radiator. I'd keep a close eye on temps this summer.

Hope not to offend. The front spoiler is a must in my opinion. My $.02cents worth. These guys are experts however and I am not. Great Vettin Cannon

Welcome to the forum!! It's a Vette..it is going to rub some. You might check to see if it has been lowered which many C5's have.
