I just bought my first Corvette (a 97 C5 coupe) and I discovered a metal rod in the center console. It's about 5 or 6" long and appears to be a hardened, machined part. There's a small nylon plastic bushing in the middle of it. I'm taking a wild guess that it may have something to do with the steering column recall. Anybody know for sure? Thanks-chuck. confused
