After reading the cold air installation in the DIY section of this forum, I did a "quick and dirty" mod to my 97 coupe. I holesawed 3 1-1/4" holes in each stock foglight mount.I used an extension to the holesaw shaft to get into the cubbyhole. I did the mods without disassembling anything and it took only 20 minutes including deburring the holes with a round file. Should work as well as the "store bought" screens used in the DIY and it was free. Goes well with my "tie wrap mod" to the stock airbox. Chuck. thumbsup

I put cold screens on my 97 A-4 and they look great and work great. But it took me and a friend a hour or so to remove the factory ones and reinstall the new ones. It helps if you turn your wheel one way and take off the break coolers so you can get your hands in there. I also took off my shroud my air filter sits on so I could get to the screens. When your done it looks factory.

I did the tie wrap mod. just remove the stock lid and use tie wraps to hold the element in place. Seems to have added a noticable increase in power as noted by my assdyno. I also added the missing hood seal on the front of the hood to give a bit of added protection from water if I'm unfortunate enough to get rain drops on my pretty torch red paint. I love this car!!!
