Wonder if anyone else has had this issue... All of sudden my headlights on 2000 Conv., come on in bright daylight and will not shut-off unless I turn the twilight off on the DIC. I can turn the lights on/off with the light switch. It's almost like something is covering the senseing unit on the dash which is not the case. Any ideas????

Willie I've never had that feature on either C5's that I've had but I am sure Chewy or Leadfoot will know. I noticed that this is your first post so what I can do is welcome you to C5 Forum! savewave

Welcome Willie!
I recommend turning off the twilight option because of this and because it prematurely wears out the headlights that are prone to failure any way. If there is a shadow or blockage of light the sensor triggers the action. It can also be a sign that the senor is headin south or there is a loose or chaffed wire to the sensor. My advice is to simply turn off the twilight option. It is straight forward easy using the options on you DIC. Hope that helps come on back and hang out savewave

I agree turning off the twilight is the simple solution but I like for things to work the way they're suppose to - however, in the real world I guess I'll just turn off the twilight on the DIC for now.

Welcome to the forum, Willie. You can be sure
that you can get your questions answered HERE
on the C-5 forum. The guys here have sure helped
me out on more than one occasion.
I do leave the sentinal OFF , doesn't give any
trouble that way.

Welcome Willie. savewave
You might run your problem through http://corvettemechanic.com/forum/ and see what comes up, but it does sound like the sensor or switch as mentioned.

The reason I was asking about the moisture is because that's where you'll get indications of a clogged cowl drain (under the wipers). Crud can easily build up (even on garage queens) and clog the rubber udders. After a ride in the rain, or even just a good hand wash, the accumulated water can find it's way though the firewall and into the cabin. It can easily short out the BCM and cause all kinds of strange problems.

You're right, I never thought about that. Garage Queen, I like that. I did say I hardly ever drive in the rain - what I should of said "I don't drive in the rain if I can help it." I really haven't put many miles on the little red vette but I'm going to start. Thanks again for the imput.. rw cheers

Willie you're in beautiful "cruisen" country
up there in Tullahoma. I was up there just
recently and it's just about as pretty as it is
down here in Guntersville, Alabama. Are you
hooked up with a Vette club up there? Gotta
put some miles on that ride. This old man drives
his EVERY day. Life is too short, gonna enjoy
every single day of it, and I can't think of
any better way than ridin through the mountains
and along the Tennessee river in my "BABY'
with the top stowed.

Not many people know where Tullahoma, Tennessee is. I just always tell people I live 65 miles South of Nashville.. Not really hooked-up with any Vette club guess I should be, might check into one... Yeah, looking forward to putting the top down real soon. Thanks....rw cool

Chevy (or AC DELCO) should`ve thought twice before putting those PLASTIC gears inside the Motor and leaving the Twilight ON...... you dont really need it to be ON because every time you Start your VETTE they Pop up-why ? I had quite some Fun replacing my Gears in one of them so just Turn the Twilight OFF and be done with it. You may be also looking at some GROUND issues that need to be cleaned-check your codes in the DIC, if any.
