Blackwing is coming today. I already have the smooth air duct. Got an appointment on Tuesday with the local Corvette tuner to have him install this stuff and get me the electronic tune. I can't wait to see how much of a difference they'll be. I hope I won't be disappointed.

I bet a Cohiba that you will be very happy! You have to preoil the blackwing prior to install. Do not over oil a little is enough. I recommend allowing at least a day for it to dry to avoid fouling the MAF. Follow the instructions and wipe out any excess with a paper towel on the inside of the wing. Just looking at it you know it will flow more air and more air means more power. I predict close to 30 additional RWHP mostly from the tune but the Blackwing and hiflow airbridge will contribute 15 to that number VAROOM! Install the hood seal, if you dont have one. Speedy Corvette is on it's way

It is important to keep water out of your intake. Seals the hood and front fascia.Rain and even washing the car can put water into your intake and that aint good! It also gives the front end a more finished look. Definitely worth the investment. Easy DIY just be sure to start at one end and work towards the other. You will need a razor to cut to length but cut from the last end not before you start.

Billy-c5, I check in the installation instructions and it didn't say anything about pre oiling. You might be right about it already be oiled.

If you cant find the exact right stuff to make your own, I would buy a good one that is already tested and for sure fits. They are all over ebay and many vendors have them. The fit is critical to keep the rain out as your wing will really pull in the air. Could be preoiled read the accompanying material it needs to be oiled to work.

Hey Leadfoot, I did what you said about sealing the hood. Couldn't find what I was looking for at Lowe's or Home Depot, so I went to an Auto Zone and found a weather seal by 3M with a self adhievsive back. Looks so good installed that anyone would think it's OEM! Thanks for the tip. Looks just like your picture. 10 feet for about 20 bucks.

The tuner said with what I already have, the electronic tune, smooth bellows and the Blackwing should make the car put out close to 400 net horsepower. Can't wait for Tuesday.

You really do not need the dyno, imo. They will upsell you on that but it isnt necessary so if I were you I would question him on that and how much more it costs. You might want the numbers for your knowledge but the car wont need it. The tunes are pretty much canned and based upon the operating parameters the tuner sees adjustments are made. The tranny synch with increased line pressure and shift times will knock your socks off. You might wanna bring some plastic or a towel for the seat on the ride home
