Dont talk about how another Bubba takes care of their Corvette or bad luck will follow you.
I made a reference to a Miami Corvette having alot of problems. lol prick!
I think it is the torx tube bushing have to dig into it. Let me know if you have had a similar problem with your A4 savewave

Yeah maybe Karma or that Miami guy placed a hex on me lol Kidding we are tight like brothers!
Thinking that I will put a new GM tube, flex plate and convertor since I have it apart. Total cost of parts is 2k. Used tube in "good shape" from a wreck is 450. WHo knows how long it will last? Rebuild my old one? nah just not dependable ie my thinking...What do you think?
I do not know much about torx convertors as I was always a manual trans guy. Are those that run aftermarket convertors happy with them?
I kinda got enough go I want reliability and streetable manners?

Yeah I am gonna keep the Corvette for a casket so I dont wanna do this repair again.Might rebuild the tube though it depends on if it is just a shredded bushing but still I got it apart so might as well freshen up another weak link in our great C5

I've heard that used TTs aren't very dependable. I'd go new as jrose suggests. Saving $$$ sometimes isn't worth the future issues.

First report is broken sprage gear devileek This will require a rebuild at least freshing up.
I had to tell them to look at the Torx tube so I am not done yet. The couplers in the drive line are rubber to reduce the shock. Like a u joint only way more prone to fail under heavy use. I think that is what I got. Bubba says it is cause of my dam leadfoot devilsmile

Could it be because you manually shift the A4 alot? Seems like that would speed up the wear and tear.

Yes Bubba Dan no doubt about it that and this leadfoot of mine. I think downshifts really accelerate the demise of the A4.The A4 stock is good up to 375ft/lbs of torx. I still think it is the rubber coupler that acts like a u joint that went bye-bye. I have a super heavy duty rebuilt tranny in there just under 20k miles of leadfoot abuse devilsmile
So if it is the tranny that needs a refresh I will still rebuild the torx tube. Sucks cause now is when I love to roll the Corvette out for adventure. Jack Bubba Ass here savewave

Great day here for a cruize and I am wonderin whats wrong how much and how long.
The consequences of modding need to be kept in mind. The consequence of driving your Corvette hard is not appreciated until she wont go no mo no
