Dexcool has been the target of many lawsuits due to ruined engines. IMO the vast majority of the failures were due to the owners adding stuff other than dexcool to the radiator. Dexcool is fine on it's own, but mix it with enough of the 'normal' stuff and it turns to jello. Many claim water wetter is OK, but I'd stick to a clean 50/50 mix of dexcool and purified water.

I have used water wetter in almost everything I have with no problems. I can't personally document it but I have been told by other users it'll reduce temps by about 15 degrees Farenheit.

What you don't want to do is change from the green type antifreeze to the Dexcool type or vice-versa. That experiment caused me a water pump change.

I don't use Water Wetter either. Anyone know why the change from green to Dexcool would cause an issue. Just curious.

I can't tell you why, but in my case the water pump seals started leaking. The reason I tried it in the first place was that I'd heard that Dexcool had better heat transfer properties.

Dexcool appears to be sensitive to outside contaminants, and the original green antifreeze qualifies as a contaminant. It turns to jello after some kind of chemical reaction, which cloggs everything up, which ends up blowing the engine mad

From what I've read online, Water Wetter seems to be OK to use, but why risk it. If you want your temps lower, change the thermostat hammer

Once the thermostat is wide open, going to a cooler one will help only if the cooling system will bring temps down lower than the opening temp. If you are running WOT in warm or hot conditions you'll need additional cooling capacity and Water Wetter claims to help. This is probably only for people who flog their cars on a track or maybe for a tow vehicle.

water wetter is glorified water pump lube
it's really only good for racing where anti-freeze is not allowed

Dexcool here mixed 50/50 with some distilled water.
