I changed the oil in my 2002 Z06 with 27,000 miles the other day. Drained oil while level and then jacked up the back to complee draining. Used a K&N filter and Mobile 1 5W-30W oil. The old filter was a standard Fram and oil pressure hot and running at normal speed was about 40 psi. Oil pressure now reads 50 to 55 psi while hot and running at normal speed. What do other see at normal operating speeds?
Thanks,
Steve

40# is normal at cruising speed.

What pressure do you have when idling?

Car used to be at 40 psi at noraml cruise speed. At idel it now registers 40 psi. Any ideas? I would not expect this to happen. Thanks

It's possible the K&N filter is more restrictive and causing the pressure change. I'd search for similar posts where that filter is used.

All I've ever used on both of mine is K&N, 40# is the at speed pressure.

Something ain't right.

I use nothing but AC or Mobile 1 filters on my 2004 Z16 and even in the hottest summer temps my car runs in the low to mid 50lbs. at operating temperature and any cruising speed close to 70MPH. It always has and I hope that it always does. The LS6 engine has a higher pressure oil pump and it will or should always run a higher oil pressure. In my opinion the K&N filter is a good one and there is not problem...your car is running the pressure that it was designed to run.

Yesterday at 6:04PM the outside temperature was 97 degrees, my car's water temp was 196 degrees and at 3,000RPM my car was holding a steady 64 lbs. of oil pressure. It has always held high oil pressure...it's a Z06 thing.

Could it be that extra Mobil 1 was add by mistake?
