Looks like a bar of soap. No, all kidding aside, more like an updated Toyota MR2 that met the "spy" drawings for the C6 (especially the front). Oh, wait, a little Ferrari Modena 360 intake action at the front bumper. Can you say, Fiero? No, never mind, a bar of soap. Nice HIDlights, though.

LOL..bar of soap!!! I think its better than the old design that should really just have been retired years ago..at least they did something..to bring the flagship foward..
Honda should know better..this isn't about money but about image..
The nsx's value comes from its halo effect for the whole corporation..
I think GM has got it right ..the Corvette really makes it onto the cover of soo magazines..month after month..year after year..
And don't kid yourself and think that guy driving an IMpala SS isn't dreaming he's cruising a vette while driving that old throwback ..
Hope lutz brings lots of cool cars like the real Impala SS (rear wheel drive V8) Chevelle SS...Pontiac GTO..Chevy Nomad..or take your pick..just get rid of that sad excuse for a car..the Chevy Malibu...
Anyways...not to go to far off point..
The 6 series looks to be a cool car..
You guys like the link?
Thats a car bMW needs to produce..(oh..and with sequential shifters..too..LOL )

I love my vette, but the NSX is gorgeous. I don't see how it can compete, though, since it has some serious price inflation. Don't knock the rice burners, man. They know how to combine/balance high performance with high efficiency. Rishi

This is a serious begining for Lexus.. Imagine a supra type body wrapped on a lexus IS 300 chassis..with this supercharged 430 V8 pumping out 400 ponies.. Heres the link! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27922

Did Acura go to Spectrewerks for their updated look? This is still the same car for 11 years. They need a complete update, for 80,000 plus..JMHO

I agree with Flyskate. There is hardly any change to the car. Just the headlights and nose, it seems.

I agree with Flyskate and BruceF. If this is the "all new" NSX, then no thank you. It looks no different than its predecessors. In fact, you could make the argument that it tries to mimic the Modena 360 in the front - but - it does a lousy job of that, even! I really thought that Nissan would come out of the dark ages and step bolding into the 21st century given the success of the C5 line. I was hoping that this would put pressure on GM to make the C5 even better. Guess not... That BMW is taking a huge step backwards as far as design goes. It may have 500 ponies, but that will be all that it will have going for it if it sticks with that SoapBox body design. Reminds me of the Pacer. There seems to be little imagination these days with respect to car design. Everybody seems too afraid to come out of the closet and let his or her hair down. I could find car designs of the 1950's that are more exiting than some of this stuff. Geez.

As an architect, I'm always amused to see how the rendering compares to the final product. The drawing was a sneak preview in Motor Trend. That's what the car should have looked like, not like a bar of soap. ![[Rotate]](graemlins/rotate2.gif)

EHS is dead on the money!
Agreed. I could go on and on with respect to the complete neglect along the horizontal plane. From the rear forward you can also note a progressive closure upon the longitudinal axis as it reaches longitudinal mid-pint of the structure. This was never carried out in production. There is no "taper effect" worth mentioning in the production version. The taper effect ALONE would have been well worth the price of admission if it had been executed. It is almost like they forgot.
This "rendering" shows a progressive horizontal dimension that got totally bastardized in production. EHS is could not be more precise.
Imagination did not become reality on this project. Had some of these elements been pulled together correctly, the NSX would have looked totally different. Maybe, even buyable.
From the angle EHS gives us now, it looks like a Toyota MR2 on Steroids.

It gets worse. Remember the rendering in Motor Trend of the C6? Note the similarities in style with the above preview of the NSX. Is this what we have to look forward to?
