What is the best method for getting the quickest 0-60mph with a automatic? Traction control on or off? Launch from a set RPM? Just curoius, I always have people trying to race and need to know the best method. cheers

traction control off..

My suggestion is to get a gtech..around 130 dollars..its good to help you find the sweet spot..

Interestingly enough..what feels fast is slow..want feels slow is fast..

I gently lay into the pedal for like the count of two.. to get off the line without losing traction..then nail it..

Seems to work..although the drama of flooring the car from a stop is fun too...(just not fast)

I asked about how to get the best 1/4 mile times in a 99 Auto. One guy said, "turn AH/TC off and just punch it." So I pulled up to a local red light and tried it. The result? "WHAH.. CHEEERRRRRRRP!!!!" and then a launch with my butt (the cars butt rather) shaking back and forth. I wish I lived near a track so I could try different methods and measure the result. I do agree that the "drama" of flooring it from zero is pretty fun! [Yes!]

Get a gtech if you can..the 0 to 60 times will give you the best legal experience on getting the best launch..for either 60mph runs or 1/4 mile runs..

Light chirps off the line are quicker than all the drama of sliding the back end around ..

At least for me..

Squeeze the trigger.....don't slam it..

its usually faster..for an a4..with a couple of basic mods..

Good luck!

Light chirps for an MN6 too.

You want to be at the edge of grip without doing the Magnum PI opening scene (the Ferrari 308 GTB).
