Does anyone know where I could buy a 2 button garage door opener that would fit somewhere in my vette convertible? Chev sure could use Homelink but doesnt. I contacted homelink and they have no aftermarket product. Any ideas ? confused

Hi Charlie!
I can't give you the "brand" but there is at least one company that makes a remote for the garage door that fits in the cigarette lighter socket. You'll have to search the web for it, but it should pop up from one of the search engines. I believe it was expensive though... something like $80 for the "lighter" and another $20 for the attachement to your existing door opener. Probably not cost effective but it's the only alternative I've ever seen....

and the transmitter is small enough (actually it has 3 buttons) to fit inside my ashtray which I do not use since I do not smoke.

I'm with Redshift. I simply removed the death-tray (ashtray) and used that space for a 1.25" X 2.25", 3-button variable-code transmitter. The tray door conceals it perfectly. A poormans deal, but it works nicely.
