I just bought my first Corvette. It's a pristine 97 a4 coupe with 11K on the odometer.Torch red.Basically, it's a new "old" car! I've always liked Corvettes, but the C5 styling made me start looking for one to own. Got a super buy on it and plan on keeping it for a long time.I'm glad I found this forum, the info on here was a big help while looking for the perfect car. Chuck. laugh

Thanks for the welcome!! A couple of observations, my first impressions... It's fast! The traction control is a necessity. Lots of road noise on the worst roads (Michigan) in the country. The wide tires combined with the tight steering does not like uneven pavement, kind of darts around a bit.By the way, what is the "performance axle" ratio? Mine has that. Thanks-Chuck

Hell yes, I'll savewave

Your in luck CC597 because the performance axle means you have the 315 performance rearend instead of the regular 273 rearend. This means you have alot more take off from a stop or rolling lowend punch. I bought a 97 A-4 Coupe with performance rearend three an a half years ago with 12,250 miles on it. I now have almost 23,000 miles. I have added a few mods to mine. As far as your corvette kind of darting around on bad pavement it is because of the hard runflat tires. Non-runflats will cure this problem. Welcome to the form Chuck! Enjoy that Corvette. And by the way my corvette is also Torch Red, aren't all Corvettes Red?

I recently ordered the Build Sheet and Window Sticker from the National Corvette Museum simply by typing in my VIN numbers. I thought it was really cool. They look nice laminated as well.
