I hate to bring this up again, but I'm finally going to get the original end links on my 98 changed to the steel Z06 as you guys recommend. Will the Z06 links from any of the C5's fit my 98vert? What should I expect to pay for the links? Any help on where to get them, my dealer will install for an hour of labor.

I know I saw this before but can't find the old topic. I should have printed it.

Any year will be the same part, GM part number is 20822934

GM list price is $35.05 each

Ecklers sells them for $43 each

You can get them for $26 each HERE with reasonable S/H

or for $21 each here and get raped on S/H

or try asking your dealer if they'll give you the $20.78 price since you're having them installed there, good chance they'll do it wink

Are they really steel? My memory is that they were more like a cheap pot metal.

A very smart upgrade and worth the money but I urge you to consider adding the C6z51 sway bars that are way cheap right now. The end links and sway bars are completely interchangeable for all Corvettes C5 or C6. The biggest bang for the buck to improve handling Parts can be had for about $300 end links and bars..best 3 bills you will drop on your 98 Corvette devilsmile hammer

Late C5 and early C6 were cast aluminum, but they're now talking about the "2010 version", not sure how they're different, if at all.

Thanks guys, especially for the part number. I will inquire about upgrading the sways at the same time. Good suggestion.

I'll let you know how it turns out later in April.

Well I finally got the end links replaced with the new ones and I have to say I notice a difference, not a huge one but still a difference. Mind over matter maybe. The best part was my dealer I got the car from replaced them for part cost only, no labor....know that's an early Christmas present. Any other suggestions on what do to? My car is basically stock with the exception of a few exterior items, letter decals (front and back), chrome exhaust, chrome plate between exhausts. For the other convertible owners, have you done anything to try to cut down on the highway noise when the top is up...seems to be a lot coming from the back trunk area.

The weather in Ohio lately has been spectacular, putting some quality miles on the car and all smiles.

Thanks for all the tips,

Jeff

Rick fro RAAMaudio.com has some great deals on sound deadening materials for members of the CF. I got some of his stuff at these prices but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

In a vert there's only so much you can do, but covering the trunk, inner doors, and behind the seats with deadener is the way to go.

cheers
