With all this talk about mods, I was just wondering how many folks on this site own a complete stock Vette ? Every car I owned, I tried to make it more personal, from motor mods, exhaust, wheels to just a few dodads (not sure that is a word) inside. I have spent a small fortune on cars since I was 15.

I'll start off, my vette is NOT stock. Purchased brand new and within 2 weeks, changed the exhaust and that was just the beginning.

My 2008 C6 Z51 is completely stock. The car tops out at 190 mph...zero to 60 in 4.1 seconds. .98 lateral g cornering..

What more could I want?

Other than a Z06 rear spoiler this car is stock.

Really a great ride. 27k miles of nothing but pleasure.

Stock is not always a dirty word.

Just enjoying the ride!

JB

My '01 A4, is stock and other than a few small mods in the future (blackwing, Corsa Exhaust Cat Back) I plan on leaving it that way. Would also love to get rid of the stock headlights and corner lights, Chevy could have done something different there.

My wife and I decided to get a weekend ride (when the kids are at grandma's)...so we bought this car mid-April '10. It has 19k on it now, best purchase of my life....we love it! thumbsup

Mine is basically stock. I haven't done cam, lifters or even hedders. I've just done a Blackwing, lowered on stock bolts, catback, x-pipe,wheels and engine compartment dress ups and such.

My Corvette is in the shop. Been off the road for almost a month. Yeah I got mods and I would trade for your reliability. There are things that need improving especially when you were born a motor head and have had the Corvette for 9years. Been 14 straight years that I have owned a Black Corvette. 96 C4
This C5 is some ride. Gonna settle down and just enjoy instead of sweetin. I got it where it ought to be. Learned alot wouldn't does and doodas is definitely a word. Dont matter the spellin.
There are things it needs but the drivetrain including engine is more reliable stock and if your are keepin versus trackin stock is more better. Headers especially cheap ones are a nightmare and dont produce that much benefit.
Intake headlights and exhaust need upgradein.
Brakes tires and suspension when those parts are worn it is smart and possible to upgrade to C6 and other alternatives. Nice thread, I went the month with no Corvette after storing it all winter modding this Spring and now waitin on a big bill. Yeah mods who really needs them devilsmile

Only mods on mine are intake and exhaust. No engine/transmission mods.

Too bad that the new compressor couldn't keep your Blue Moons cold!

Mine is just about stock except for my 2 tip Cat Back exhaust system which sounds awesome. Have some exterior dress up's which really sets the back of the car off. I'll tell ya what P'd me off the other day. My wife wanted to take MY vette to work Saturday to pick up some items. She asked me to help take the top out. I said I thought it was supposed to rain. So the top didn't come off. I really didn't want her to drive it that day since about a month ago I took the wheels off and gave them a good waxing and cleaned under the fenders & cleaned under the car like the exhaust system and chrome plate exct. I mean it was looking NEW and beautiful. And what happened . It rained and my baby looks like crap !!!!!! Never the less I was pissed. Some women just don't understand.
THE END .

My car is un-modded, although I did add a smooth air intake coupler and a chrome C5 flag between the exhaust pipes.

Based on the replies, we vette-heads (just made that up) just can't leave our cars alone. We have to add exhaust, intakes and other items. I am not complaining because that is why these cars are so much fun to own.

You just got to love it !
