Hey everyone. Due to the bad economy I needed to sell my Vette. My wife and I are "downsizing" and will probably move to a smaller home. Florida's economy is really bad right now and getting worse. The oil spill won't help things either.

After putting an ad in to Craig's List, I sold my beloved Vette in 4 hours for $20,000 cash. I was very sad to see it go and can tell you my life feels pretty empty about now.

Thanks to everyone for all your help over the years. I felt like the C5 Forum was a great "encounter group" for me. I always looked forward to getting on line to hear what people had to say and how most problems were easily solved by the Guru Wizard Bubbas.

Sorry to here about your loss.

I was fortunate enough to buy another 98 vette with only 7,000 miles on it and sold my 98 vert with 38,000 on it for $18,5000 in only three days. I had both for about two weeks trying to consider whether to keep both, but common sense finally won.

You are a great asset to the forum, I hope you stay connected for all us newbees.

I agree, you may not have a vette parked in your driveway, but there is still one living in your heart. Stay on the board and keep in touch, so you will be ready, and its not if but WHEN you buy your next vette.

Thanks, guys. I was going to sell the Bird instead of the Vette, but the Bird is my wife's car and she says she is more comfortable in that. I have a Jeep Commander, so who am I to say the Bird goes instead of the Vette. I'll still lurk around from time to time. You won't get rid of me that easy.

Sorry to hear about the sale, but am grateful for you that you had a quick sale when you needed it. My wife lost her job a few years back and we sold everything but the dog and the baby, paid everything off and downsized drastically. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as she was not as stressed out all the time and a hell of a lot easier to get a long with. We have since recovered and things are working out for us. So this is just a new beginning and there will be other vettes out there when you are ready. GL!

Ken ..I hope you will take the advice you've heard so far and stick around the forum.

Sorry to hear of some of the tough times hitting home but trust me...in the not too distant future...things will turn around and everything will be better than ever.

We'd enjoy having you stick around the forum and even describing your insight whenever you feel like sharing.

Remember ....as long as you have your loved ones health....YOU"VE GOT EVERYTHING THATS IMPORTANT!

Smart move downsizing now and before you know it....you'll be getting another vette.

As an adult we gotta do what we gotta do! Your move was responsible and imho the right thing to do. I think your sale in 4 hours? Was testimony to how you kept your Corvette.
As posted by your other friends here, I want to wish you well and agree that it wont be long until things turn around for us all. You will always be our Bubba and dont be surprized if we come looking for you if you dont find the time to hang with us. Who ever got your Corvette got a fine C5 cared for by our smart bubba bad a great deal from a great guy! Best of Luck, Ken

I understand your need to downsize. I hope that things will take a good turn for you soon and that you can replace your old Vette with a newer one. Like many others have said...stick around, we would like to keep you here.
