Anyone here into firearms? If so, which guns do you own, and of the guns you own which is your favourite?
Here are mine: Winchester .30-06 Rifle with Leopold scope Ruger 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun Ruger P-Series .45ACP double-action pistol
Obviously my Ruger .45 is my favourite, although I may purchase a Sig 9mm in the future. My hands and arms get tired from firing the .45 after 30 rounds or so, and a smaller calibre pistol would be easier to handle. I would absolutely love to own a Desert Eagle .50AE for fun, but civilians aren't allowed to own anything larger than a .45 calibre. I would also love to fire a .50BMG rifle as well, those things look fantastic!

Too many to list, and you never know who is looking at this I believe in the rights to own guns, although that gets tested with all the sick things you see on the news daily

Here you go..from the SF paper:Man with weapons said to have hit list
Henry K. Lee, Chronicle Staff Writer Friday, May 30, 2003
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Walnut Creek man accused of stashing an arsenal of guns and pipe bombs at his home suffered from depression and told his wife he kept a hit list of people who had angered him, according to court documents released Thursday.
Steven Merenkov, 47, appeared Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Wayne Brazil in Oakland on one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. The goateed Merenkov was clad in the same street clothes he wore when he was arrested Wednesday.
He did not enter a plea and could face additional charges pending an investigation that intensified two weeks ago after his wife, [name removed by Redshift], told agents she was afraid because he had stockpiled far more weapons than they had thought, authorities said.
"Her husband, who suffers from anxiety and depression, told her something to the effect of, 'I've been keeping a list of people in my life that have pissed me off. God help them if I get some kind of terminal illness, because I'll go out in a blaze of glory,' " ATF Special Agent Cynthia Chang wrote in an affidavit.
The case has stunned residents in the normally tranquil neighborhood, where investigators said Merenkov kept a cache of 40 weapons and three pipe bombs at his modest two-story home on Fireside Court.
Investigators said they did not know why Merenkov kept the weapons. Merenkov is a Corvette fancier who sells parts from home as part of his business, "C5 Corvette Performance Center." He told authorities he was a competion shooter, documents show.
No hit list has been found, said ATF Special Agent in Charge John Torres. Reached on her cell phone, [edited by Redshift on 7/17/05 at 7:05pm EDT - name removed as requested by person in question], 45, said, "No comments."
Agents arrested Merenkov on Wednesday outside a Mailboxes Etc. on Ygnacio Valley Road, then went to his home less than a mile away and seized 40 guns -- including 23 assault weapons -- two pipe bombs, pipe-bomb parts, two M203 grenade launchers and thousands of rounds of ammunition, Torres said.
Merenkov had hoped to pick up a package that he had sent to himself, hoping the three pipe bombs it contained would escape detection for at least two weeks, authorities said.
"He wanted to divest himself of contraband," Torres said. "We think we scared him somewhat."
Surprised agents had expected to find only gun parts inside the brown, 10- pound package. On May 15, Merenkov had voluntarily handed over machine-gun parts -- used to illegally convert a semiautomatic weapon into a fully automatic one -- and a Glock silencer to ATF agents who visited his home.
After that visit, [edited by Redshift] told agents that Merenkov had erased computer files with gun-purchase records, shredded documents and shipped the package to himself, records show. She also told investigators that that he kept a safe full of guns in a bedroom closet.
Before his arrest, Merenkov angrily told his wife, "Don't ever let the police in this house again."
Merenkov was ordered held without bond pending a bail hearing Tuesday. In court Thursday, he spoke only once, saying, "I don't think I could afford one" when Brazil asked whether he wanted to hire a private attorney.
Agents began investigating Merenkov after learning that he had bought nearly $2,000 in illegal gun parts from an Argentine arms dealer on three occasions in November and December, records show.
Neighbors on Fireside Court, who had been evacuated for two hours Wednesday night as Walnut Creek police and ATF agents scoured Merenkov's home, said they were surprised to learn of Merenkov's arsenal.

Buckmaster, perhaps when I have more time I should just come down and visit you! Geez! A .44 Magnum with interchangeable barrels? I could only imagine how much fun you have at the range with at monster! I bet that .44 probably has more recoil than my .45ACP! Glocks a little "weird" to fire. I feel unsure about using a firearm that doesn't have a manual safety. One thing I must give credit to Glock is how their guns are so light, it feels like you're holding a toy pistol. Three shot guns? Those are very, very rare! You should pass them down to your son(s) and keep them in the family. Any assault firearm is fun to shoot with! I've always wanted to fire an AR-15 or anything fully automatic.

HCVOne - You're right, there are a lot of people who do stupid things with guns. To me, guns are merely tools. In the hands of an expert, they are completely safe. In the hands of an idiot, they're deadly. And if anyone is watching this and wants to search my home, then I'll put my Ruger P-Series .45 to the test. Just kidding! As far as that person who owned the C5, I think he needed professional help.
