Here it is folks: 150HP, 1200lbs, under $35,000 out the door. smile Not even close to street legal. laugh

www.diasio.com

They use a 1000cc Yamaha motorcycle engine and a sequential shift 5 speed transmission. Top speed of somewhere in the range of 150 MPH.

This would be an interesting car to drive on the track, considering it's about 1/3 the weight of a C5.

Interesting car, Matt. Especially the weight to power ratio's. The body style looks rather similar to what I'm researching right now, The Ultima GTR.

The GTR of course, is a true racecar built for the street and is also emissions legal in 50 states. It also costs much more than this one you site. But, it out performs any stock Ferrari, Porsche, and test drivers have said that it rivals the McLaren F1 and the 996, on the track!

It can hook up to a LS1 427 V8 coupled with a Porsche G50/50 6 speed manual trans. Geared properly and the upper limit could reach well over 200mph.

Here it is: http://www.ultimacars.com/fra_gallery.htm

I've seen those Ultima cars before. Certainly super cars. Very cool. What impressed me about the Diasio car is the performance for the price. Considering it is full of safety equipment and comes ready to race right from the manufacturer.

It certainly would make a cool track car.

BTW, what is the sticker for one of those GTRs if you put a crate LS-1 or LS-6 in it??

Matt,

Yep. You are correct about the pricing thing. The Ultima GTR bases as $89,000. From there you have to select an engine and transmission. The package I'm looking at is the GM LS1-V8 427 and the Porsche G50-6speed manual.

The powertrain package that I'm considering should be near $40,000 installed! But, that comes with Porsche performance trans components as well.

When all is said and done, the GTR the way I wan't it will be around the $125k - $140k arena.

But, for performance that is in the McClaren F1 range which is clearly a $1.3-$1.5 million dollar investment here in the U.S. Besides, I've never gone 0-60 in under 3 seconds! eek
