To get past the porsche must have been something. There was discussion that the driver didnt drive the porsche very well and the incident with the audi going into the gravel was cited as evidence that there were some driver issues. The HP was also questioned with the GTR being suspected of under reporting.
Tires yep they can make a huge difference. Still all in all some very impressive performances by the japanese. The car smokes I still prefer the audi and the porsche just cant afford one plus I got a great corvette which incidently the consensus of comments read was that the zo6 will crush any and all of the participants..

Check out the GTR road test in the new Car&Driver. This car is spectacular! While 480 bhp is quoted by Nissan, apparently Japanese sources are quoting 480+ at the wheels. That would explain the (as tested) o-60 in 3.3 secs.

I'd suggest the GTR is a "RINGER" in car and driver..

480hp with 3900 lbs should trap out at 118.5 mph.

Tuners have been reported in Japan to have modifications that can lift the hp from 480 hp to 530hp..

If the car in the test was dynoing 480 wheel hp then what are these Tuners in Japan selling to lift hp at the flywheel to 530hp?

I think the GTR is a great car. I'm just not convinced the test vehicles aren't ringers..

I dig that DSG tranny and its traction/launch control.

We have to wait and see what the prodcution vehicles do. The results though, are exactly in line with what Nissan promised. And 480 flywheel horses would not get close to that performance.
