I know i don't have a C5 but have you guys heard any good sounding exhaust systems on a C4. I listened to Borla on their website but it didn't sound much louder than the stock system. If i pay that kinda money i want it to sound GOOOOD.
Any input will be helpful. [Computer]

Howdy and welcome. Since this is a C4 topic, I'm moving it to the C4 section. You'll get more responses there.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the forum. savewave

I used to have a black 96 with Flowmasters on it (the cat-back system). If you drive your car a lot (like to work, trips, etc) be careful what you ask for. The flowmasters sounded really good outside (not real loud, but better than the "whoosh" stock pipes. The problem is, it was loud inside the car with all the resonance problems of many of the aftermarket exhausts. I can't speak for the Borla's specifically since I've never owned a set, but if you go overboard with the "loud" you may be sorry in the end.
But, on the other hand, you won't have to spend a lot of money on CD's! wink

Good luck!

HI there, and welcome,
If you want to talk exhaust, then talk Walker Ultra-flo.
They are standard equipment on all Callaway cars, and absolutely sound awesome.
This is one of the only times I will speak of a personal preference.

Welcome to the forum. savewave

Mufflers are very much like loud speakers. They all sound different and what I may like you may necessarily not. The best bang for the buck are Muffler Eliminators. They give it a nice throaty big block sound. On my '90, I am running stainless steel KBD Targa mufflers and find them half as loud as the Hooker header sidepipes I have on my '79. Reguarding mid RPM resonance, when I replaced my carpeting, I added sound deadner. Even with a Vert it doesn't bother me anymore.

i have the 3" SLP stainless steel on my 95'.i love the sound. its the loudest best sounding exhaust ive heard for the c4's.i think its also the only true-dual 3" too.

i think i paid 540 for the whole cat-back system.

Barbie. wow your vette looks good ! ive never seen torq thrust on a c4. they are torq thrust's arent they?

[Yes!] American Racing Torque Thrust II's. Haven't seen them on a C5 yet. And, thanks for the compliment. I don't even have the exhaust on that pic. Long story.

I had the cat back Borla exhaust on my '94. Sounded great (to me). But, I had the cats removed and had Hooker headers on the car as well. This gave it a great sound with some resonance...but not bad enough to complain.

Good Luck in whatever you choose.

(My first post!)

I have the Corsa's on my '94. I love the sound; at first they're kinda quiet, but after about 2,000 miles they really open up. That shouldn't be because they're all stainless, but I'm not the only person to comment on that.

They are certainly a quality system.
