Recently my 4 year old C6 is making some creeking noises. Actually, sometimes if you hit a good sized bump, you will get a loud crack. I'm sure it is the Glass top moving when the chassis flexes. I'm sure I am not alone, what is the easiest fix?? There has to be something that lessens the noise. Lubriplate, silicon, what's the deal. confused

Mine started popping in the hot SC sun at about year two. A pair of 5/32" e-clips from Lowes fixed it for under $1, click here for details.

cheers

You should be lubricating all of the weatherstripping 1-2 times a year with silicone dielectric grease to prevent it from drying out. I'd start with this before making any adjustments to the top.

There have also been a couple of recalls or TSBs for C6 tops. One for the panel separating, and another for noise. You might want to check with your dealer to see if you are included in these.

Moving to C6 Tech

I heard if you tighten the pins it will not be noisy...

Thats one thing that many forget..

I don't remember the torque specs but follow the manual..or ask over at www.corvettemechanic.com

They know the torque specs on the pins so ask there..and give it a try.

its those dam pins more often than not...that people forget to tighten to factory specs...(they can loosen over time too)
