My ideals for styling front engined GT's are both European - the Ferraris 575 Maranello, and the Aston DB7 - incidentally, the DB7 was the first real product of Ian Callum, Jaguar's chief design guy. Both a little understated, but very classy.
Of the various Vette's, to me the C5 is the best styled - sleek, and not "overdone", which the C7's sadly appear to be. Although I think they did not do a good job on the tail - let's face it, that's the bit most other drivers get to see of your C5!
And I am definitely not into angular, e.g. Caddy - I like sleek and rounded. And not only cars.....
Were I still a working designer, and had any influence over the Vette's future, I would take a very hard look at the Maclaren MP4-12, IMO the class act of the current supercar crop. GM could mass produce something close pretty easily, for about the same cost - maybe less, as it's smaller - as today's Vettes.
