Everybody hates the rear of the car so I gotta believe this is a fake...

No way the corvette team missed the boat on the styling of the rear of the new vette this badly..

NO one...and I mean no one so far likes the rear of this car..

I can't believe the corvette team would ever produce a vette with a rear cap that is so heavily hated by the corvette community..

Maybe the finished product is better...

I don't care one way or the other because I'm not buying any neew sports car without a Dual clutch! LOL

or at least thats what I'm saying at the moment...as I still am enjoying my present ride..

I do dig the front shot of the vette on the cover though..

I just don't see how the corvette stylist could be so far off base on the rear of the upcoming C7...

Hopefully that back end shot is BS and its only the front that is accurate..

Sometimes GM forces these publications to do this so as to not give away the entire design to the competition and the public....until the "official release"..

One thing I do like about the rear end as it's currently 'pictured', it got me looking at '12 GS models. I just may be sitting in a new Centennial Edition GS in a month or so ;-)

Those pics do make you want to go out and get a C6.

My ideals for styling front engined GT's are both European - the Ferraris 575 Maranello, and the Aston DB7 - incidentally, the DB7 was the first real product of Ian Callum, Jaguar's chief design guy. Both a little understated, but very classy.

Of the various Vette's, to me the C5 is the best styled - sleek, and not "overdone", which the C7's sadly appear to be. Although I think they did not do a good job on the tail - let's face it, that's the bit most other drivers get to see of your C5!

And I am definitely not into angular, e.g. Caddy - I like sleek and rounded. And not only cars.....

Were I still a working designer, and had any influence over the Vette's future, I would take a very hard look at the Maclaren MP4-12, IMO the class act of the current supercar crop. GM could mass produce something close pretty easily, for about the same cost - maybe less, as it's smaller - as today's Vettes.

I have heard from those who have seeen the new C7 in person it is stunningly beautiful so don't take the photo drawing sketches to heart...

Its an indication of whats coming but not done up in a way that communicates what the vehicle actually looks like in person..

Have only seen photos of it under tarps. Looks a lot like the C6. Could be a C6 1/2 with a ton of hype. I hope not.
When is the rascal gonna be for sale? Doesn't look like 2013.
Agree with Roger about the overdone comments. The inital drawings do give me that impression. Didn't like the C5 at first when it came out. When I got up close...had to have one.
There is talk about smaller block with direct injection and dual clutches. Cant wait to see what it looks like when the tarps come off.

The C7 should be officially release at the Detroit Auto show...this upcoming January 2013....with production much further along probably around July 2013.....

the C5 has already stopped depreciating in large part...IMO......whereas the C6 is still heading down....

No better values than an 07, 08, 09 vette...

From a value perspective...I'd shop those whereas the Grand Sport.......is also a stunningly beautiful car that transcends the importance of getting the best "value"...

The 06 Z06 is a hell of a value as well...but with no roof off fun...

You said Jim, that 08/09 was the way to go and you are right, again! JB you are right on as usual regarding the depreciation of the C6 and stabilization of C5 prices. Low mile C5s are competing with early C6 in terms of price.
So many out there it is very difficult to deceide. Gonna wait for Carlisle to see what they got. The 2012s should be at their best prices in September. It looks to me that they will have plenty left. The selection might be limited but the price right. I dont think they will sell all of the Cent ed this year Kerbecks got a ton.
