I am conflicted.
LINK REMOVED
I have liked Corvettes since I was a little kid, always wanted to own one.

However, as I aged I figured out that there is a certain... stimga that goes along with owning one, its either "there goes mid-life crisis man" and while im not quite old enough to be in that boat, I am pretty damn close (Im turning 30 this year).

The other stigma is that other Corvette guys get insanely upset when you start modifying them, my uncle being one of those types of guys.

If you want one then by all means get one and stop worrying about what other people think.

Like you I have always wanted to own a Corvette, but never expected to ever buy one.
Now at age 71, I decided to DO IT! I wanted a C5 because I think it's the best looking car on the road....also, not as pricey as a C6,7, or 8.
After searching online for a couple months, I found the one I wanted - a 2004 Commemorative Edition LeMans Blue Coupe with only 43000 miles on it. Exactly what I wanted, a 350, Automatic (I don't need 450hp).
I bought it a month ago. I LOVE it.
