guys, this evening I found in my garage floor a very small puddle of a watery pink fluid (maybe a 2 in puddle). I looked up under the car and saw no sign of anything....all looks dry. I smelled the fluid and it smells the same as the coolant, but the coolant appears to be an orange color. A musty type of smell. The car was moved to another spot about 4 hours ago and bone dry under it now. Any guesses?

one more thing to consider.....I washed my car last night then parked it over night, possible cause? Maybe running through something then dripping down? Can't imagine what it would be running through to turn pink however.

It could be a coolant fluid or steering, transmision maybe but if its water like its the first two-can you pinpoint where exactly is it leaking-Front , side or near the firewall ( back of the engine ) ?

Not sure as I moved the car before I saw it. I'm pretty sure it is near the front. I'm getting ready to go see if it leaked any over night.

What color is the windsheild washer fluid? AC compressor leaking? Pink would make me think it's some type of hydrolic system fluid.

I'd guess coolant. Next time you have the car up to temp take a look at the overflow tank to see if it's about to overflow, could be it just purged out any excess.

okay.....more investigation. Ran my finger up underneath the water pump....wet. I'm assuming that's the problem. Not making any noise when started. Possible just the gaskets leaking or is the water pump probably shot? 63k miles on the car. Should I be afraid of driving it around a bit?

If you do drive it keep a close eye on coolant temp. If it pegs in either direction pull over and turn off the car immediately.

If you can get the shaft to wiggle it is the pump and that is my bet that it is time for replacing. Once you get these things that wear out replaced, you will be good to go and max out the enjoyment factor. It is good you found it before you got stranded somewhere and had to pay for a tow. You got a kick ass Corvtte dont let the little things, bum you out
I'd drive it and like the doctor Chewy said just watch the coolant temps and dont go far from home. It is a very easy fix. Hunt down the best price. I'd try GMPARTSHouse, the partsladi and be sure to get a shipping quote..

Update......drove the car on a little ride last night put it back in the garage. A friend came over today to help me out with the water pump. No sign of a coolant leak at all, bone dry under the car and all around the water pump. We took it out and drove it roughly 20 miles and still not sign of a leak. As a result we did not do anything. My coolant temps are staying in the 220-227 range even when cruising down the highway. Questions: Should I just keep an eye on the water pump at this point and do nothing, is 220-227 too high for coolant temp? I'm not seeing anything anywhere close to the 190's as in the other posts. Thanks.

220-227 is higher than mine will normally get. Is that uninterupted highway driving, like not stop and go?

That was driving a 10 mile stretch, some hills, but pretty normal driving out of town at approx 60 mph.
