How many of us are using a waterless car wash product? I have been using Freedom Waterless Car Wash and I'm very happy with the results.

Waterless? I need to get out more. How does waterless car wash work. Seems if you don't at least rinse the car off first you may be taking a chance of scratches.

It looks like many of the group are not aware that this product exists (I should get a commission for this plug!!) Anyway, the stuff lifts the dirt away from the surface so you can wipe it off with a micro-cloth. After you go over the car you go back and buff it with a clean micro-cloth. It has not scratched my Vette yet after a few months of using it often. It leaves a very good shine behind. The link for Freedom Waterless Car Wash is:

I use an Instant Detailer if the cars not real dirty. Is it like that?

I have not used an instant detailer. I would be the first for admit that I would be a little scared to use it on my Vette if it was really dirty. I keep the Vette extremely clean and use this product weekly just to make it shine! I have used it on my girlfriend's Ranger pickup (not worried about that vehicle) with very good results even when it is filthy! The truck is black and I have not seen any scratching.

I guess I'm from the old school. I use soap and water only.

In the winter time I use the product very carefully. I use it on the sides of the products if they aren't too dirty.

I never use it on the top side of the vehicle.

Need to be very very careful so as not to scratch the vehicle.

I use it between car washes in the winter time.

I guess that I'm old school as well...soap and water. Has anybody tried the "fine scratch remover" from MidAmerica Motorworks? What about any of their other car cleaning/detailing products?

Many use solvents and kerosene as their waterless cleaners, and some should be used in a well vented area. You can do the same things with many detail sprays if you really flood the surface and allow the detail spray some time to lift the dirt. smile
